Ultan Conlon at Whelan's and the Roisin Dubh

I recently opened for the wonderful Ultan Conlon at his shows in Dublin and Galway. It was an honour to step into the shoes of Mary Coughlan to join Ultan on his song ‘A Weak Heart Like Mine’. I just love Ultan’s songs and his band are fantastic!

The Ghost of Tucumcari

I was honoured when Dana Cooper asked me to contribute a backing vocal to his latest album (his 32nd). I’m very proud of ‘Song for Myself’, and to be featured on the album alongside artists such as Lyle Lovett and Hayes Carll is pretty surreal! I highly recommend checking it out (www.danacoopermusic.com)

A Gig with Eilidh Patterson!

I had a fantastic time welcoming the lovely Eilidh Patteron, all the way from Derry, to my home town of Oldcastle. I showed her the sights and we played a lovely gig at Speedy’s Bar, where everyone was blown away by her songs and her performance.  I hope we get the chance to collaborate again soon!

The new single ‘It’s Not Too Much To Ask’ from Teresa Marie Canavan and Paul Carrington (Downda Road Productions) is out now! I was very happy to record the acoustic guitar for this beautiful song written by Mary Chapin Carpenter and Don Schlitz, and I love hearing Teresa and Paul sing together.

House Concert in Cavan

I was delighted to be invited to play a couple of songs at a wonderful house concert held in Cavan, with visiting Nashville artist Jessica Wilis. It was a really enjoyable afternoon of music and raised funds for Sosad Cavan.

Lily's Open Mic at Speedy's Bar

It was my pleasure to host January’s open mic at Speedy’s Bar (Owen Traynor’s), Oldcastle, Co. Meath. This fantastic event is run by Lily Burke and takes place on the first Thursday of every month. It’s a lovely warm and welcoming platform for all kinds of performers, of all levels of experience, and it’s a joy to watch the community grow!

The Saturday Connection with Charlie McGettigan

It was lovely to catch up with Charlie McGettigan on his radio show ‘The Saturday Connection’, on Shannonside Northern Sound. Charlie is so supportive of local musicians and it’s always great fun to have a chat with him and play some songs. We even got to perform a live duet of our co-write ‘The Way You Smile'!

It's All in the Song

I was delighted that one of my songwriting heroes Buddy Mondlock included me in his choice of Irish artists in this lovely episode of ‘It’s All in the Song’ on Dublin City fm, when he sat down for a chat with Peter Grogan. The interview also features songs from Buddy’s new album ‘Filament’.

A Visit from Dana Cooper!

It was really special to have Dana Cooper play a show in Oldcastle on his most recent trip to Ireland, in our beloved Speedy’s Bar. I love very opportunity to hear his great songs, and to get to sing with him is a bonus!

Special Feature on RTE Radio 1's Countrytime

What an honour to be asked by Brian Lally to contribute a spoken piece for one of my favourite radio shows, Countrytime, about three songs I had wish I had written. Not an easy task, but my choices on this occasion were Jimmy Webb’s ‘Witchita Lineman’, Charlie McGettigan’s ‘Feet of a Dancer’ and Bobbie Gentry’s ‘Ode to Billie Joe’. You can listen back to the show at the link below:

On Grafton Street

It was such an honour to release ‘On Grafton Street’ this Christmas time in tribute to the late Nanci Griffith and her co-writer, my Nashville friend Fred Koller. The song also raised funds for the charity Grafton Street Kitchens, who do such wonderful work. Head over to my media page to watch the video, featuring clips of the street shot by yours truly! :-)

Once in a Very Blue Moon

As a fan of both Nanci Griffith and Mary Black, I always loved this song! It was great to sit down with Brigid O’Neill on a recent trip to Co. Down and sing it. Written by Pat Alger and Gene Levine :-)

Who I Am Today - Live!

I had wanted to do a live video for my song Who I Am Today (written with Gary Ferguson) for a little while, but knew it wouldn’t be the same without Joe Murray, who performed on and produced the recording. Here we are recently at his studio Sessions in the House! Filmed by Donna Murray.

Paradise Bay

I’ve recently joined a fantastic collective of musicians called Lemonade Marinade, and I sing lead vocals on their latest single Paradise Bay. The song was written by David Dee Moore and it’s a beauty! All proceeds from sales of the song will go to mental charities, check it out on Bandcamp at https://lemonademarinade.bandcamp.com/track/paradise-bay
